A large ribbon-like script crosses the black background, broad and fluid, like a gesture frozen in mid-flight. John Beckley combines intense blocks of color with a shower of splashes, which burst across the contours and blur the boundary between letters and background. Inside the drawing, areas patterned with diagonal lines and small dots create a very graphic effect, reinforcing the sense of volume and relief. The multicolored splatters radiating all around extend the central movement and give the whole a lively, joyful energy.
