Bold diagonals cross the image and break the space into highly contrasting bands, as if several urban facades had been compressed together. John Beckley combines lettering, stylized bricks, regular dot patterns and white splashes that blur the reading of the words. Saturated colors slide from one plane to the next, from acid yellow to deep blues, passing through intense pinks and oranges. This superimposition of signs and textures creates an impression of speed and visual abundance, close to the energy of a street wall covered with successive layers of graffiti.
