A large field of intense blues is crossed by a dark cross that cuts the composition diagonally and creates a very distinct tipping zone. Around this center, John Beckley layers shades of blue, from the lightest to the deepest, punctuated by splashes and small droplets that give the surface a vibrant aspect. Fine white lines, straight and oblique, run from one edge to the other like so many trajectories structuring this seething energy. The whitened frame, slightly scraped, reinforces this tension between geometric order and a more raw energy. The whole retains an electric intensity, concentrated in the central cross and the lines that cross it.
