Fragments of posters, pieces of text and torn textures here compose a dense surface, like an urban wall saturated with traces. John Beckley assembles these elements in layers, between deep browns, smoky blacks and lighter areas that evoke worn and scratched materials. At the center, a splashed white trajectory crosses the composition diagonally, links the different fragments and creates a vivid contrast with the dark colors. One finds oneself following the truncated letters, the striated cardboard, the tears, in a nervous visual journey through this imaginary city in permanent construction.
