The composition races diagonally, like a graphic stroke launched at full speed across a deep blue background. John Beckley builds this movement with very crisp, layered geometric planes, whose dark edges heighten the sense of relief and cut-out form. The warm colors fit together in angular bursts, crossed by fine light curved lines that seem to slice through the space. Around them, projections and colorful splashes bring a freer, cosmic texture that contrasts with the rigor of the forms. The whole gives the feeling of a very vivid visual flash, concentrated at the heart of the canvas.
