The large dark curves that cross the surface give the composition its main rhythm, like supple stems that spring upward and intersect. Around them, John Beckley unfolds an intertwining of colored bands, straight or slightly curved, that overlap in transparency and create luminous passages. The violet, turquoise and yellow flat areas mingle with more textured zones, punctuated by small light splashes, which gives the background a vibrant depth. Finer arcs, white or very pale, glide over the whole and accentuate this impression of fluid movement. The work then seems traversed by a circulation of light that animates every corner of the surface.
