The large colored diagonals seem to sweep across the surface at full speed, as if the painting were crossed by a flow of energy. John Beckley organizes this movement around broad, bold bands, very sharp, which intersect with more misty areas where the colors blend and diffuse. Between these two registers, white splashes and fine taut lines add a luminous vibration. The eye then moves from one axis to another, passing from intense flat areas to more fluid textures. At the center, the meeting of the bands creates a dense core where the layers overlap and seem to slide over one another.
