The composition is built like a colorful wave that crosses the three panels and unites the whole in a single breath. On the even gray background, John Beckley creates narrow, slightly irregular vertical openings through which a very lively world of colors, drips and splashes appears. These bands create a flexible grid that lets the light through and gives the impression that color is circulating behind the surface. The oblique golden lines cross the canvases in continuous arcs, bringing a fluid rhythm and guiding the eye from one panel to the next. Everything plays out in the tension between the geometric rigor of the gray frame and the abundant energy that can be sensed within the bands.
