Four aligned panels make up a single luminous trajectory, cut into sections yet continuous, which John Beckley sets in motion from left to right. The colored bands, sometimes horizontal, sometimes vertical, combine gradients, grids of small squares and hexagonal patterns, giving the whole a very graphic character. The large black curves cross the panels and intersect these vibrant areas, like a guiding line that organizes the profusion of textures. The splashes, rubbings and color overlays create an animated surface, where the eye moves quickly from one fragment to another. Yet the work retains a clear structure, carried by the white that frames each panel and highlights this ribbon of colored light.
