At the center, a colored cross traverses the three panels and links the whole in a single continuous movement. John Beckley builds this dense core with overlapping horizontal and vertical bands, where deep violets, intense blues, vivid yellows and touches of black mingle, punctuated by undulating white lines. The lighter backgrounds, pinkish on the left and bluish on the right, reveal splashes, dotted areas and granular textures that lighten this central concentration. Fine black signs, placed at the ends, discreetly structure the composition. The work then seems to breathe between tension and lightness, carried by the fluid circulation of colors from one panel to the next.
